Prayer of Dedication

Campbell McAlpine’s prayer of dedication for Reigate Baptist Church

Great and Almighty God, we bow in reverence before You, coming to You in
the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We agree with, and borrow the prayer of
Your servant David who prepared for the building of the temple long ago.

Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our Father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
1 Chronicles 29:10-11

We honour and thank You today for Your great faithfulness in providing this
house for Yourself. We hoist our “Ebenezer” and say, hitherto has the Lord helped
us.
We give you all the glory and all the praise.

We dedicate this place to you with the desire that in and from this place, You
Father and Your beloved Son Jesus will be magnified and we express our dependence
on the Holy Spirit to accomplish this.

May this place be:-
A place of worship and praise from Your redeemed people.
A place where Christians love one another so that the world may know we are
Your disciples.

A place of increasing in the knowledge of God.
A re- birth place for many souls.
A home for returning prodigals
A witness to this whole area of the greatness and love of God and the power of
the Cross of Jesus.

A place of provision for the poor.
A sending forth place of workers to other places in the world.

To this end we dedicate ourselves to You, and present our bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to You, which is our reasonable service. Help us O God, to glorify You,
and finish the work You have given us to do.

In the glorious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.   Amen.
